William Penn University chooses Absolute to protect endpoints in student laptop program

William Penn University, a small private liberal arts college in Oskaloosa, Iowa, runs a laptop program for students at its College for Working Adults. The IT team faced recurring losses from stolen devices and students who withdrew without returning their laptops, creating both security and budgetary concerns.

To address this, William Penn deployed Absolute DDS for adaptive endpoint security, giving staff remote controls like data delete and device freeze, plus centralized visibility and proactive alerts. The deterrent effect and support from Absolute’s Investigations team increased laptop returns, enabled recovery of stolen devices, and—according to IT staff—made the solution “pay for itself” by substantially reducing the problem.
