A Absolute Software Case Study
SNCF Technicentre in Nevers, France is an industrial centre of excellence that renovates regional train equipment and employs nearly 1,000 people. With about 600 IT devices—roughly half laptops—staff often work remotely or in the field, creating risk that lost or stolen devices could expose proprietary engineering and commercial data. The IT team needed a way to protect devices and sensitive data even if drives were reformatted or operating systems reinstalled.
They deployed Absolute’s Persistence®-based endpoint security on new device rollouts (about 150 devices so far), taking advantage of its BIOS-embedded agent that survives reinstallation, reformatting, or drive replacement. The solution provides a constant, tamper-resistant connection to each device, enables remote file recovery, data deletion and device freeze, and is easy to deploy and manage from a single cloud console—resulting in secured proprietary data, persistent device visibility, and simplified administration across diverse device models.
