Morrison Utility Services halts device and data loss with Absolute

Morrison Utility Services, a UK utilities contractor with 3,500 staff across about 90 sites, was responsible for more than 1,500 mobile devices—many used in vans and exposed to theft. After repeated losses and wiped drives that left IT unable to locate or recover devices, the company needed a more resilient endpoint security and asset-management solution.

They selected Absolute for its embedded Persistence® technology, trialing it on 100 Lenovo laptops; when one was stolen and wiped, Absolute’s Investigations team worked with police to pinpoint and recover the device. Morrison then rolled Absolute out to 800 laptops and 100 rugged tablets, gaining accurate location/status data, proactive alerts for suspicious activity (OS changes or unknown IPs), and faster, more efficient inventory auditing—reducing loss, recovery time, and associated costs.
