A Absolute Software Case Study
KCOM Group, a UK communications provider with around 2,000 employees across nine sites, refreshed its IT estate of 1,100 laptops and 900 desktops using leased hardware. Leasing meant the company had to track and return assets at contract end, while misplaced or stolen laptops and "PC drift" created administrative burdens and significant data security risk.
KCOM activated Absolute on all new devices, leveraging embedded Persistence technology to pinpoint a device when it connects, auto-reinstall the agent if removed, and check in every 24 hours. This made it easy to locate and recover faulty or mislaid laptops, produce an accurate asset inventory, streamline leased-device lifecycle processes, and remotely secure unused devices—reducing risk and improving IT efficiency.
