KCOM ensures GDPR compliance and strengthens its security posture with Absolute

KCOM, a UK communications and IT services provider with 2,000 employees across nine locations, faced growing endpoint security and compliance challenges during a large refresh of its IT estate. With a largely remote workforce, devices could be infected or go missing while VPNs were offline, forcing physical intervention and leaving the company exposed to GDPR and data-loss risks and unable to quickly prove whether sensitive data had been compromised.

KCOM deployed Absolute’s patented Application Persistence to make its VPN and other security agents resilient, enabling remote visibility, control, automatic self-healing of critical apps, and automated security events for lost or stolen devices (including remote lock and wipe). The result was a strengthened security posture, higher operational efficiency through remote management and automation, and the ability to prove GDPR compliance and that sensitive data remained protected.
