Indianapolis Public Schools saves $167,000+ on asset costs with Absolute

Indianapolis Public Schools, the largest and most academically diverse district in central Indiana, operates 60 schools with over 6,000 staff and 30,000 students and manages more than 8,000 desktop and laptop assets. As teaching and learning shifted from desktops to portable laptops, the IT team needed a reliable way to track, inventory and protect those devices against loss and theft.

They implemented Absolute’s cloud-based device persistence and tracking to count, locate, remotely wipe and—via a Service Guarantee—replace unrecovered stolen laptops. Since 2007 Absolute has recovered or paid for more than 167 laptops (about 75% of stolen units), saving IPS over $167,000, while providing real-time inventory, faster investigations and strong vendor support for campus-wide device management.
