Greenville Health System Leverages Absolute’s HIPAA-Compliant Data Security and Recovery Services

Greenville Health System is a not-for-profit healthcare network in upstate South Carolina with seven hospitals, 200 physician practices and about 15,000 employees across more than 17,000 devices. As the system expanded, leaders needed to measure and reduce endpoint risk to meet HIPAA and industry standards, proving devices were encrypted and enabling remote lock/wipe—while eliminating “dark” endpoints and scaling protection across a highly mobile workforce.

Greenville engaged Absolute for an Endpoint Risk Assessment that benchmarked controls against HIPAA, NIST, HITRUST and CIS standards, produced a prioritized remediation plan, and deployed Absolute’s firmware-embedded Persistence® for continuous visibility and self-healing protection. The solution revealed and eliminated dark endpoints, provided audit-ready evidence of encryption and remediation, enabled recovery of stolen and unreturned devices, and delivered ongoing improvements to Greenville’s security posture and compliance.
