A Absolute Software Case Study
Centre Hospitalier Universitaire (CHU) de Clermont-Ferrand, the largest hospital in the Auvergne region with about 6,000 staff supporting some 2,000 patients, was managing roughly 4,000 devices but was losing an average of two endpoints a month to theft. Although sensitive patient data remained in the hospital’s data centre, stolen laptops and PCs caused significant disruption to clinical and administrative work and imposed recurring IT time and replacement costs, so the hospital needed a practical, cost‑effective way to secure vulnerable devices.
CHU deployed Absolute on 270 of its most at‑risk PCs and laptops, using Persistence® technology embedded at the factory so the agent reinstalls even after OS or drive replacement. The solution made devices recoverable and acted as a theft deterrent, cutting end‑user disruption, saving time and money on replacements and configuration, and reducing theft incidents to help create a safer environment and improve the hospital’s reputation.
