CareSource is a non-profit Medicaid-managed care plan based in Dayton, Ohio, serving more than 900,000 members with about 1,400 staff. With a growing inventory of roughly 300 laptops (30% of their devices) containing protected health information (PHI), the IT team needed reliable device tracking, secure data protection, and proof of secure data deletion to meet HIPAA and other compliance requirements.

CareSource deployed Absolute Data & Device Security (DDS) with Persistence technology, a firmware-embedded agent that reinstalls itself if removed and was quick to roll out. The solution lets IT maintain contact with devices, perform remote wipes, and generate end-of-life data delete certificates—resulting in faster asset tracking, ensured PHI protection, and clear compliance evidence.
