Virginia Credit Union, a $3.6 billion asset cooperative serving over 270,000 members, faced growing and increasingly sophisticated payment fraud that existing point solutions couldn’t fully detect. To centralize monitoring and gain persistent, flexible detection across channels, Virginia Credit Union turned to Abrigo and its BAM+ fraud scenarios to enhance their fraud controls and case management.
Abrigo implemented BAM+ fraud scenarios (and enterprise fraud case manager), adding single- and multi-channel detection and real‑time wire scanning that alerted staff to suspicious outgoing wires and consolidated investigations enterprise‑wide. As a result, Virginia Credit Union prevented over $1 million in fraudulent wires and nearly $300,000 in elder financial exploitation, improved reporting and resource allocation, and materially reduced member losses with Abrigo’s solution.
