Case Study: EAB prevents thousands of email attacks and protects education partners with Abnormal AI

A Abnormal AI Case Study

Preview of the EAB Case Study

Strengthening Communities Through Secure, Equitable Access to Education

EAB, a Washington, D.C.-based education administration organization supporting colleges, K–12 and corporate partners, needed to protect its cloud email ecosystem and help partners with less robust security defend against phishing, BEC, vendor compromise, and other advanced threats. EAB selected Abnormal AI, deploying its behavioral AI email security via a quick API integration and using VendorBase to gain vendor compromise visibility alongside Microsoft 365.

Abnormal AI’s solution detected and stopped threats before they reached users, protecting 3,389 mailboxes and preventing thousands of attacks over 18 months — including 3,065 phishing, 3,179 BEC/impersonation, 241 malware, 194 fraud incidents, and 60 account takeovers — while identifying 73 high‑risk vendors. The result: fewer manual investigations, faster partner notifications through VendorBase, and more time for EAB’s teams to focus on expanding access to education.
