Savannah-Chatham County Public School System Protects Teacher Inboxes and Saves Employee Time

Savannah-Chatham County Public School System (SCCPSS), which serves more than 35,000 students across 55 schools, was struggling with display-name spoofing, business email compromise and credential-phishing campaigns that consumed limited human and technical resources and targeted HR, payroll and teachers. To protect roughly 5,000 mailboxes, SCCPSS deployed Abnormal AI’s email protections, including Inbound Email Security, Email Account Takeover Protection and Abuse Mailbox Automation.

Abnormal AI’s proof-of-value deployment stopped the spoofing campaigns and automated investigations and remediation, cutting spoofing from hundreds of messages a day to about one a week. In 90 days Abnormal AI detected/remediated 1,228 credential-phishing attacks and 48,000 total attacks, and the district saved more than 75 employee hours per week—freeing the security team to focus on other threats and providing dashboards for board reporting.
