Savings Plus Solar for Biotechnology Center

Biotechnology Center, a mixed-use conference facility and biotechnology business incubator, wanted to modernize its 1991-built building while maximizing energy savings and meeting ARRA grant obligations. ABM Industries helped justify additional sustainability upgrades beyond the original funding, including energy-efficient building systems and solar.

ABM Industries implemented a Tridium DDC control system, a 32 kW photovoltaic solar array, high-efficiency HVAC retrofits, and lighting upgrades. The project delivered about 200,000 kWh in annual energy savings, generated 41,000 kWh per year from solar, improved scheduling for events, and enhanced indoor comfort and lighting quality.
