The American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA), a 182,000‑member professional organization for audiologists, speech‑language pathologists and related professionals, needed a secure, searchable forum where members could discuss industry topics, network, and solve real‑world problems. Their legacy listserv lacked searchable archives and didn’t integrate with their netFORUM association management system, causing duplicate data entry and limited functionality.
ASHA launched a full‑featured online community powered by Higher Logic and integrated with Abila netFORUM Enterprise, enabling single sign‑on and centralized group management. In three years the community recorded nearly 97,500 unique logins, 103,300+ content contributions across 110 groups, and grew annual discussion posts from 8,025 to 21,752, boosting member engagement, peer support, and ASHA’s ability to monitor and respond to member needs.
