Aker Solutions achieves TRL9 subsea communications with Abelon Systems

Aker Solutions, a leading global provider of engineering and construction services, required cutting-edge embedded technology to maintain its position in the subsea oil and gas sector. Given the harsh operating environments, they approached Abelon Systems for its reliable remote embedded systems to develop firmware for their subsea control products and topside monitoring applications.

Abelon developed embedded firmware for Optical and Electrical Ethernet Modems, Terminal Servers, and Routers, making all products remotely upgradeable with key characteristics of reliability and failsafe operation. The successful partnership, ongoing since 2005, resulted in products achieving Technology Readiness Level 9 (TRL9) and Abelon being awarded Class A Supplier status. Abelon continues to develop new communications technologies for Aker's next-generation products.
