The United Nations World Food Programme (UNWFP) in India needed to evaluate the government’s Mid‑Day Meal Programme but relied on multi‑level, manually filled forms collected at village, block and district levels. This paper‑based workflow was slow, error‑prone and especially challenged by heavy numeric data with many decimals, hindering timely monitoring and analysis.
ABBYY partner NETSPIDER India converted the forms to machine‑readable templates and used ABBYY FormReader to capture scanned data at state headquarters, uploading results to a secure web portal. The solution automated reporting, improved data accuracy and analysis, resolved recognition issues, and was expanded with ABBYY FlexiCapture to additional project sites.
