Smart CyberLogitec Shipping Automation Tool Saves Costs for Customers

CyberLogitec, a Seoul-based IT company specializing in maritime logistics, was asked by major carrier Hanjin Shipping to solve a paperwork bottleneck: shipping instructions (S/I) arriving by portal, e‑mail, fax and scan were processed manually, often taking up to 20 minutes per document, driving labor costs, delays and errors across a fleet handling over 100 million tons annually.

CyberLogitec deployed D-CUBE S/I built on ABBYY FineReader Engine (via partner ReTIA) to automate OCR, data extraction and indexing—even for Korean scripts—across multiple input channels. The system cut S/I handling to about 2–3 minutes (up to 10× faster), reduced errors, freed staff for customer-facing work, and produced roughly $700,000 in savings.
