PwC in Moscow, a professional services firm, faced a growing burden of manual data entry during audits: staff had to review large volumes of supporting financial documents and hand-key vital fields into registries, which slowed processing and limited time for client work. Management sought to increase efficiency and enable automatic transfer of document data into the company’s information systems.

PwC implemented ABBYY FlexiCapture to automatically enhance images, classify documents, OCR only required fields per user rules, and export extracted data into a master spreadsheet. In an early pilot the system processed over 1,000 primary financial documents and used dynamic templates for consignment notes and payment orders, speeding up document handling, improving data accuracy, and freeing auditors to spend more time on high-priority client work and boosting customer satisfaction.
