Podiatry Insurance Company of America (PICA Group), the leading professional liability insurer for podiatrists, collects 100–600 contact forms at about 20 industry tradeshows each year to qualify policyholders for risk‑management discounts. Manual data entry of those forms took days, delaying discount application and prompting a search for an automated forms‑processing solution.
PICA implemented ABBYY FormReader Desktop Edition with a Canon 6080 scanner and support from reseller FormTran; FormReader matches forms to validated templates, extracts data to CSV, and imports it into PICA’s Oracle system. The new process achieves a 97% match rate and cuts processing time from 3–4 minutes per form to seconds, saving hours of work and enabling timely application of discounts.
