TRS Forms & Services (P) Ltd, a decade‑old specialist in document and data capture, partnered with ABBYY to tackle India’s massive manual exam‑form backlog—universities and professional institutes process millions of answer booklets annually, and manual checking could take up to six months, generating delays, errors and revaluation requests. The scale and need for confidentiality and accuracy made automation essential.

TRS built an automated solution around ABBYY FineReader Engine, integrating OCR/ICR, OMR and template matching with purpose‑built "dummy number" scanners to anonymize, scan and capture marks and tabulation sheets; discrepancies were resolved by comparing images and OMR/ICR data. The result: throughput improved up to ninefold, results published in weeks (often 20–25 days instead of months), dramatically fewer errors and revaluation requests, and deployment across major Indian universities and professional institutes.
