A leading private holding group in Kuwait that operates car rental and currency exchange services faced a surge in ID processing demand after the government rolled out smart Civil ID cards and expanded their use. The company struggled with slow, costly manual workflows: paper copies shipped to a central office, operators retyping data from multiple ID formats and languages (Arabic and English), high error rates and a growing volume of scans (tens of thousands per month).
NVSSoft implemented a decentralized, web-based capture solution integrating ABBYY FineReader Engine, NVSSoft ArcMate Data Center and Oracle, enabling branch scanning and automatic Arabic/English OCR extraction of key fields (ID number, name, DOB, expiry, nationality) directly into the database. The deployment automated processing of over 400,000 IDs per year, improved accuracy and speed, reduced costs and staffing needs, and allowed the holding group to expand its car rental and currency exchange network while maintaining strict quality control.
