General Financial Directorate (GFŘ) increases operational efficiency with ABBYY FineReader

Generální finanční ředitelství (General Financial Directorate) is the Czech Republic’s finance ministry agency, operating 14 offices with about 13,000 employees to collect, process and analyze financial and tax information. As a high-volume document processing organization, GFŘ faced the challenge of extracting data from large quantities of printed and PDF documents and converting them into usable Word and Excel formats without time-consuming manual retyping.

GFŘ adopted ABBYY FineReader 14 for its superior OCR accuracy (especially for Czech), reliable table and complex-format conversion, PDF tools and document comparison, plus easy centralized license management. FineReader is installed on about half of workstations and used regularly by roughly 10% of staff, saving the agency thousands of man-hours monthly while increasing productivity and accuracy across workflows.
