Document Centric Solutions uses ABBYY FormReader™ to seize the potential of the digital document management market

Document Centric Solutions (DCS) is an Ireland-based e-business company that digitises document processing around ERP and legacy systems, with a focus on Payables, Receivables and Purchasing. Facing pressure to make e-commerce and back-office processes more cost-effective and efficient, DCS needed an accurate, affordable forms-recognition capability to capture data from invoices and other business documents.

In 2000 DCS integrated ABBYY FormReader into its document management platform to automate OCR and form recognition, enabling captured invoice data to be searched, stored, routed and fed into ERP systems—processing up to about 200,000 documents per month for some customers. The combined solution delivered faster approvals and lower invoice-processing costs for clients like CHUBB (reduced outstanding debt and improved user satisfaction) and helped BP cut procurement costs by 5% (£1.5m).
