Deloitte Extends the Capabilities of their eDiscovery Suite with the Help of ABBYY Recognition Server

Deloitte LLP’s UK Forensic practice—part of a global professional services network with about 1,400 forensic practitioners across 30+ countries—needed to process large volumes of image-only documents (scanned PDFs, JPGs, TIFFs, GIFs) as part of eDiscovery work. These files were unsearchable by their eDiscovery suite, making manual review slow, error-prone, and unable to cope with volume spikes of up to 1,000 documents per hour.

Deloitte implemented ABBYY Recognition Server, a centrally managed, scalable OCR service that integrates with back-end systems and automates conversion via watched folders. The server performs high-speed, multi-language (190 languages) OCR, returns searchable text to the eDiscovery suite, and greatly reduced manual effort while improving searchability and throughput for forensic investigations.
