COENS Scales Down Expenses and Human Errors with ABBYY FlexiCapture®

COENS, a Busan-based provider of support and logistics services to the oil & gas sector that manages travel and accommodation for foreign staff in South Korea, faced time-consuming, error-prone manual processing of monthly notices of payment (utility, telecom, gas, electricity, etc.). Manual data entry and classification led to frequent mistakes, missed deadlines and penalties, and unpredictable budgeting.

To address this, COENS implemented an invoice automation system using ABBYY FlexiCapture, deployed by ReTIA and N Information Technology, which uses OCR with custom extraction rules and group verification and supports Korean, English and barcodes. The solution reduced processing to about 30 minutes per 100 pages (roughly 1 hour per 200 pages), cut human errors and related penalty costs, lowered man-hours for verification, and improved the predictability and efficiency of financial management.
