Capgemini® Creates Automated Invoice Processing System with ABBYY® FlexiCapture

Capgemini China Business Services, a BPO center in Nanhai, Guangdong, handles about 2,000 financial documents daily (in English, Traditional and Simplified Chinese) for clients in the financial services sector. The accounts payable team’s manual data-entry workflow caused high paper-storage costs, slow retrieval for disputes, poor transparency and governance, and accuracy problems — creating an urgent need to boost productivity and reduce errors.

Working with partner WCL Solution, Capgemini implemented ABBYY FlexiCapture to automate scanning, OCR, verification and export (using barcode sorting, Hot Folder batch processing and a verification station). Within three months 83% of invoice processing was automated; recognition accuracy reached 95% for printed and 83% for hand-printed invoices, and the BPO achieved a 33% productivity gain while moving toward a paperless, error-reduced workflow.
