The customer, adidas ltd. (Moscow), was facing a significant challenge in processing a high volume of handwritten order forms from its dealer seminars. As the number of dealers increased, the manual data entry became a bottleneck, taking over an hour and a half per order and threatening to delay critical sales forecasting and production planning. This challenge led them to seek a solution from vendor ABBYY.

ABBYY implemented its FormReader OCR/ICR software to automate the form processing. The adidas IT department was able to set up the system with minimal external assistance, and it successfully handled the bulk input of forms, including handwritten data and check-box recognition. The solution drastically reduced order processing time from 1.5 hours to just 7-10 minutes, making it ten times faster and allowing the company to efficiently manage the increased workload without hiring additional staff.
