ABBYY, together with local partner Devnet Limited, helped Bangladesh College of Leather Technology (BCLT) move away from traditional OMR hardware to address the challenge of quickly and securely processing 2,300 entrance exam forms containing hand‑filled personal data and answers. The institution needed a reliable, accurate solution that could handle handwritten entries and preserve exam confidentiality while reducing time and manpower.

Devnet deployed ABBYY FormReader Enterprise Edition — leveraging its Intelligent Character Recognition (ICR) plus OMR functionality — and supported the rollout with illustrated student instructions and an easy-to-use teacher interface. The result: one operator processed all 2,300 forms in seven hours, maintained data confidentiality (correct answers stayed with teachers), significantly cut processing time and resources, and demonstrated ICR’s practical benefits in Bangladesh.
