Case Study: FAMIQ achieves ISO certification and full raw-material traceability with ABBYY FlexiCapture (by ABBYY)

ABBYY FlexiCapture® Watches over Product Quality at the Metallurgy Leader FAMIQ

FAMIQ, a 50‑year leader in stainless steel coils, sheets, tubes and fittings in Argentina with five showrooms and over 25,000 items, faced a major quality-control challenge: to obtain ISO certification it had to ensure full traceability of raw materials through production. With a document flow of about 700,000 pages a year, manual processing of packing lists and quality certificates was impractical and jeopardized the company’s ability to meet ISO requirements.

Working with Baseside SRL, FAMIQ implemented ABBYY FlexiCapture to OCR, classify and extract data from scanned documents and export validated records into hot folders for integration with SAP. Deployed in two months, the solution made documents searchable, ensured raw‑material traceability, eliminated time‑consuming manual work, enabled staff training for wider use, and helped FAMIQ secure the ISO certification.
