FinSuite, a Melbourne-based financial software developer, created BizAnalyser to automate reading, recreating and categorizing multi-year business financial statements for loan risk evaluation. The company’s challenge was extracting and standardizing data from diverse PDF and scanned documents—often poor quality, in multiple languages and inconsistent formats—that were traditionally manually entered into spreading tools, slowing underwriting and increasing error risk.

FinSuite integrated ABBYY FineReader SDK to provide robust OCR/ICR, broad language support (including CJK and Arabic), fine-grained OCR control and machine learning from manual categorizations. The solution exports data to existing spreading tools and Moody’s RiskAnalyst, halved statement import time while improving accuracy on poor-quality scans, and has been adopted or piloted by global banks including HSBC, earning selection for the Fintech Innovation Lab APAC.
