Continental Quality, an Anderson, Indiana–based provider of outsourced automotive inspection and rework services, was manually processing 3,400 handwritten timesheets a month for a major manufacturer. That slow, error-prone workflow required six full-time data-entry staff, took three to four minutes per timesheet, and delayed delivery of critical production data to the customer by three to four days.
Working with UFC, Continental implemented ABBYY FlexiCapture to automatically capture timesheet data and export it to Excel; the system was up and running in four days. The automation cut data-entry headcount from six to one, reduced entry and verification time to about 45 seconds per timesheet, and shortened data delivery to the customer to 24 hours, improving speed and accuracy.
