Willbrandt KG is a family-owned distributor of technical products for work safety and rubber/plastics technology with 170 employees and five locations in northern Germany. Faced with the need to network separate sites, ensure system stability and fast access for daily wholesale operations, Willbrandt implemented abas (installed on a Linux server) in 2003 to support 70 users and their growing eBusiness requirements.

abas connected the Hamburg, Hanover and Berlin locations and integrated eServices and third-party systems (EASY archiving, UPS, a browser-based fax solution and Open-Xchange/media database), enabling transactions with more than 100 customers and vendors. The abas implementation delivered constant availability, faster access and flexible interfaces to meet special customer requirements quickly—supporting high-volume daily processes across 70 users and a company group with over €50 million in revenue.
