Retarus, a provider of managed services for electronic communications and business process automation, needed to scale operations, improve transparency and information availability, and take its business software with it as it expanded internationally from a single Munich office. In 2003 Retarus engaged abas (abas Distribution) to standardize processes and support international roll‑out so the company could manage rapid growth and more complex product data.

abas implemented a new product structure, edited 23,000 master files, and enabled adaptable business processes and non‑IT users to make modifications, with regular upgrades preserving company‑specific changes. As a result, abas helped Retarus quadruple the number of services offered and triple headcount (from ~60 to 250 employees) while expanding across Germany, Switzerland, Italy and France—delivering clear, measurable support for the company’s growth.
