Alme AG, a Swiss supplier to mechanical engineering and the automotive industry with about 50 employees, faced the challenge of managing high production depth, custom small-batch work and precision manufacturing. To streamline operations and replace legacy systems, Alme implemented abas ERP (vendor: abas) in 2007 to support core business processes across the company.

abas ERP provided integrated modules—CRM, Sales, Purchasing, Materials Management, Scheduling, Production Planning, Costing, Financial and Project Accounting, Fixed Asset Accounting and Controlling—along with plant data/time recording and payroll extensions. The solution enabled faster order acceptance, quick BOM and operation-plan generation with processing notes, real-time material and stock visibility, and prompt monthly closings, hour counts and final costings. According to ALME, the abas ERP rollout (9 licenses/users) reduced work steps, sped up processes, lowered maintenance needs on its Linux servers and delivered measurable gains in closing speed, costing accuracy and overall operational efficiency.
