Case Study: U.S. Army achieves IUID compliance and asset visibility with A2B Tracking

A A2B Tracking Case Study

Preview of the U.S. Army Case Study

U.S. Army Depot Utilizes IUID

The U.S. Army Depot needed a way to comply with MIL-STD-130 and uniquely identify the vehicles and other items moving through its maintenance operations. To avoid building a system from scratch, the team turned to A2B Tracking and its UC! Web™ software for a turnkey IUID solution that could create the UII, mark items, verify the marks, and submit data to the IUID Registry.

A2B Tracking implemented UC! Web™ across the depot’s IUID lab, driving YAG and CO2 flatbed lasers, Metalphoto®, and dot peen marking systems, with verification and validation handled by a Microscan verifier and Hawkeye scanner. The U.S. Army Depot successfully rolled out IUID for 40 marked items, with more being added, and now has improved asset visibility and a path toward Serialized Item Management (SIM) and cradle-to-grave tracking.
