DoD supplier takes integrated approach to satisfy UID and RFID labeling needs

Gyrocam Systems, LLC, a leader in ground and airborne surveillance solutions for law enforcement and homeland security, needed to meet U.S. Department of Defense Unique Identification (UID) and RFID labeling requirements despite having no prior bar coding or RFID experience. The company had to comply with MIL-STD-129 and MIL-STD-130 while also supporting major new DoD contracts, so it turned to A2B Tracking for help with UID labeling and compliance software.

A2B Tracking, working with Zebra Technologies and epcSolutions, implemented an integrated UID and RFID labeling solution using Zebra printers, A2B’s UID Comply! software, and RFIDTagManager. The system automated label creation and DoD data submission, letting Gyrocam produce compliant UID and RFID labels in-house quickly and efficiently. As a result, Gyrocam met DoD compliance ahead of schedule, trained users in under an hour, and reduced the time needed to prepare orders compared with outsourcing.
