Case Study: Yahoo Japan Corporation achieves peak-traffic resilience and space- and energy-efficiency with A10 Networks' AX Series

A A10 Networks Case Study

Preview of the Yahoo Japan Corporation Case Study

With AX Series, Yahoo! JAPAN Can Handle Peak Traffic with Space and Energy Efficiency

Yahoo! JAPAN, one of Japan’s largest online service providers with millions of active users and tens of billions of monthly page views, needed to ensure fast, stable service during growing mobile traffic and intense access spikes (e.g., events and peak lunch hours). Their existing load‑balancing setup risked service degradation or outages that could harm revenue and reputation, so Yahoo sought a higher‑performance, scalable solution to handle peak loads reliably.

After testing vendors, Yahoo implemented A10 Networks’ AX Series (later upgrading to 64‑bit AX platforms) and deployed GSLB for multi‑site disaster recovery. The AX Series removed CPU strain under peak traffic, simplified feature enablement (all features included without extra licensing), reduced data‑center space and energy use, and provided IPv6 and virtualization readiness—resulting in improved scalability, resilience and operational flexibility.
