Simplified Infrastructure and Expanded Services with A10 Networks

Schibsted IT, the Oslo-based IT arm of Schibsted Media Group that hosts high-traffic sites including Finn.no (roughly 30 million hits per day), faced growing pains from legacy load-balancing infrastructure that lacked Layer‑7 features, IPv6 support and SSL offload. With a large, distributed web farm (about 150 servers) they needed a compact, scalable 1U solution that delivered higher performance and advanced application delivery capabilities.

Schibsted deployed a pair of 64‑bit A10 ADCs (ACOS) with 10‑Gb ports, using HTTP load balancing, cookie persistence, SSL acceleration and header inserts. The rollout simplified their infrastructure, delivered 100% stability, improved real‑server performance and supported ~30% traffic growth in one year while providing headroom to double traffic and plans for IPv6 and expanded deployment.
