Case Study: Florence County achieves 3X web performance at half the cost with A10 Networks

A A10 Networks Case Study

Preview of the Florence County Case Study

Scaling Web Application Delivery for Government Sector

Florence County Government in South Carolina operates a busy public website and internal applications that attract about three million unique visitors a month and run on clustered VMware and SQL servers. The county needed a modern, cost‑effective server load balancing solution to ensure high availability and better performance; after evaluating incumbents (including F5) and finding them costly and dated, Florence County selected A10 Networks’ ADCs.

The county deployed two A10 ADCs in an HA pair, using TCP session reuse, hardware SSL offload, aXAPI (REST) for automation, and aFleX scripting for security and health checks. The result was dramatically faster page responses, reduced backend CPU and connection load, increased virtual server capacity and easier management through automation, plus proactive support—end users noticed and reported that the website felt “incredibly fast now.”
