New Zealand Council Future Proofs Network with A10 ADC Appliances

Thames‑Coromandel District Council (TCDC), a local government authority in New Zealand, relied on an end‑of‑life load‑balancing setup that could no longer support growing traffic and new services. The ageing solution created performance, security and manageability concerns as the council’s mission‑critical web services for residents, businesses and internal users expanded.

Working with consultant Network Edge, TCDC deployed A10 Application Delivery Controllers after a successful proof of concept. The A10 ADCs provided server load balancing, SSL offload, caching and compression plus advanced security and multi‑tenancy via Application Delivery Partitions, integrating quickly with an intuitive UI. Resulting benefits included much faster page loads (from ~7s to 1.4s on average, and ~0.6s with caching), rapid rollout, and logical partitioning that isolates rule changes and future‑proofs the network.
