Micron21 Datacentre Pty. Ltd., a Melbourne-based cloud and hosting provider operating a fully redundant, world-class data centre, faced growing demand that outstripped its software-based load-balancing infrastructure. During a multi-million dollar facility upgrade the company urgently needed higher performance, traffic acceleration and robust DDoS protection to scale horizontally and reliably support spikes such as the White Night festival, when more than a million simultaneous visitors required instant access.

Micron21 deployed A10 Networks Application Delivery Controllers (ADCs) and cloud services to provide hardware load balancing, RAM caching, compression, SSL offload, traffic acceleration and high-capacity DDoS defense. The solution delivered roughly double the performance of prior options at half the cost, cut front-end server load by about 80% during peak events, reduced management overhead and operational costs, enabled seamless horizontal scaling, and allowed Micron21 to offer pay‑as‑you‑grow ADC services to customers.
