Hong Kong Baptist University Selects A10 Thunder ADC for Architecture Redesign

Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU), a multi‑campus institution serving roughly 3,000 staff and 11,000 students, needed an architecture redesign to support campus expansion, new data centers and much higher SLA demands. The IT team sought an ADC that could scale with rising application traffic, provide N+M redundancy across sites, cloak server attributes for security, and—critically—retain existing custom scripts without requiring rewrite and retest.

HKBU deployed A10 Thunder ADC appliances in route mode with traffic inspection and clustered M+N redundancy across multiple data centers, using aFleX/TCL scripting to preserve existing integrations. The solution delivered cost‑effective multi‑site high availability, improved SSL performance and 10GE port density to handle projected growth, and enabled seamless replacement of the incumbent ADC while maximizing application uptime.
