Higher Education Institution in Need of Architecture Redesign to Support Network Growth

St. Petersburg College, Florida’s first two‑year institution, serves tens of thousands of students—including some 32,000 online learners each semester—and faced rapid enrollment-driven growth that strained its legacy network. The college needed a new architecture to support a burgeoning mix of applications (Blackboard, PeopleSoft, SharePoint, Lync, Exchange), increase data center bandwidth, and ensure hitless failover and high performance for a diverse, distributed user base.

St. Petersburg College selected A10 Networks ADCs for their multi‑tenant ADP virtualization, scalable multiprocessing, SSL offload and stateful high‑availability synchronization, consolidating many application environments onto fewer appliances. The deployment delivered higher-density virtual instances, faster client response, sub‑second failover, reduced application complexity and lower costs while maintaining strong performance.
