Case Study: SKYCable achieves IPv4 preservation and improved DNS/caching server availability with A10 Networks' CGN and ADC solutions

A A10 Networks Case Study

Preview of the SKYCable Case Study

Addressing Imminent IPv4 Address Exhaustion and Load Balancing Needs

SKYCable, the Philippines’ largest cable TV and residential broadband provider with over 500,000 subscribers, faced imminent IPv4 address exhaustion and increasing load on DNS and caching servers. The company needed a cost-effective, future-proof, small-footprint solution that could be deployed quickly and managed using industry-standard tools.

SKYCable deployed A10’s Carrier-Grade NAT (CGN) to extend IPv4 connectivity and enable incremental IPv6 migration (6rd, DS-Lite, NAT64/DNS64) and A10 ADC appliances for server load balancing. The result was preserved IPv4 addressing and a clear IPv6 migration path, improved server availability and traffic handling, simpler management via familiar CLI/GUI interfaces, reduced rack space and power use, and an overall stronger ISP experience for customers.
