A10 Thunder Adc Helps Casio Support Cloud Access for 6,000 Employees

Casio Computer Co., Ltd., a global manufacturing company, faced deteriorating user experience after moving to Google Apps for Work: proxy servers built on open-source Squid and virtual servers were overwhelmed as usage grew, existing load balancers could only perform basic ping checks and couldn’t detect application failures, and performance for services like Gmail, Hangouts and Drive suffered for roughly 6,000 employees in the Asian region.

Casio deployed a redundant pair of A10 Thunder 3030S application delivery controllers, consolidating six proxies/load balancers into two appliances. The change cut proxy load to about one-fourth, stabilized cloud access, freed surplus capacity for other gateway functions, improved health monitoring and reporting, and reduced operational overhead from OS and Squid maintenance—delivering a higher-performance, more resilient cloud access architecture.
