Managed connectivity ensures secure data exchange between handheld scanners and server

Gebrüder Weiss, an international transport and logistics company, faced the challenge of managing a large fleet of handheld scanners and smartphones across multiple countries. Their legacy system with separate national SIM cards was inefficient and lacked security. They required a secure, centrally managed connectivity solution that would allow for direct communication between their mobile devices and servers, and chose A1 Digital to address this.

A1 Digital implemented its "Simplify" managed connectivity platform, providing private APN access and a VPN to create secure data tunnels to Gebrüder Weiss's servers. The solution, which included equipping 1800 handhelds and 150 smartphones with M2M SIM cards and fixed IP addresses, centralized all management. This resulted in a significant facilitation of the support process for tasks like firmware updates and gave A1 Digital a single, flexible provider contract that replaced many individual country agreements.
