Yippee Ki-Ay Blues uses Wowza GoCoder mobile app to stream live music from anywhere

Yippee Ki-Ay Blues is a music streaming venture helping professional blues artists expand reach and generate new revenue without constant touring. Facing the challenge of reliably capturing and distributing live performances and VOD archives, the team evaluated streaming tech and selected Wowza for its free GoCoder mobile app and easy integration with cloud services.

Their workflow uses an iPad with Wowza GoCoder for capture, an Android setup tool, Wowza Streaming Engine on AWS for scalable encoding and VOD recording, and JW Player for site playback. This setup has supported up to nine-hour 4G live streams with just three seconds latency across continents, and the company plans a paid VOD subscription and an Android app to further monetize and showcase performances.
