Stream Group creates custom OTT broadcast solution for Europe using Wowza Streaming Engine software

Stream Group, a decade‑experienced provider of interactive TV and video platforms, was chosen by M7 Group to build Online.nl’s OTT/IPTV/VOD service. Faced with a six‑month go‑to‑market window (four months to deliver a turnkey system), they needed to transcode an initial pool of 75 channels and quickly configure profiles for mobile devices, set‑top boxes, browsers and HDMI dongles to support live and time‑shifted TV features including nPVR.

Stream Group integrated Wowza Streaming Engine and Transcoder as an on‑prem, scalable media platform providing server‑side SD/HD transcoding, adaptive bitrate streaming, and origin nPVR/packaging and encryption. The solution delivered stable, multi‑bitrate protected playback across devices and enabled rapid rollout—today Stream Group processes about 180 live channels for M7, has doubled channel capacity in a year, supports 20+ projects across Europe (including large deployments with 150 concurrent channels), and expanded services into multiple countries.
