A Wowza Video Case Study
Southeastern University needed a reliable, cost-conscious way to live stream chapel services, graduations and growing campus events to students and global viewers while keeping tight control over workflows. Third‑party CDNs they tried lacked transcoding and the flexibility to integrate with internal tools like a Roku channel, and the university needed a solution that could handle unknown audience sizes and fluctuating bandwidth.
The university deployed Wowza Streaming Engine on an Amazon EC2 instance (with Teradek encoders for larger conferences) to gain transcoding, scalability and easy integration with third‑party devices. The result was flexible, high‑quality streaming across campus and worldwide events, smoother management of variable audiences and bandwidth, and positive operational feedback from media services leadership.
