Biola University is a private Christian college in the Los Angeles area with about 6,500 students that uses live lectures, seminars and marketing videos to educate current students and attract prospective ones. Because many prospective students spend time on Facebook, Biola wanted to reliably stream campus content to large, targeted audiences—but their previous workflow relied on many pieces of equipment and manual encoder configuration, making streaming complex and unreliable.

Biola implemented the Wowza ClearCaster appliance (integrated with its Blackmagic and Sony cameras/switcher), which simplified setup and provided a dedicated, Facebook-ready streaming solution. The new workflow is far more reliable and easier to operate, enabling consistent broadcasts to massive audiences and improving Biola’s ability to showcase campus life for recruitment.
